Reed Exhibitions Acquires CardNotPresent.com and the CNP Expo
Dec. 14, 2015
CardNotPresent.com, the media company that includes the CNP Expo, the CNP Report newsletter and the CardNotPresent.com Website, was acquired recently by global trade show organizer Reed Exhibitions. Norwalk, Conn.-based Reed, which runs 500 events in 43 countries, said CardNotPresent.com’s management team will continue in their current roles with added resources enabling them to grow the event and the digital platform and expand the quality and depth of content available through all its channels.
CEO Steve Casco and Editor-in-Chief DJ Murphy launched CardNotPresent.com in 2011 as an online publication covering breaking news, global trends, companies and individuals influencing the card-not-present payments space. In response to reader demand, the pair introduced the CNP Expo as an annual conference-led event offering all the educational and informational content of the publication in an in-person environment that fosters collaboration and partnership. Casco and Murphy will remain as guiding forces in the company, which also produces webinars, white papers and primary research covering payments issues that affect CNP retailers and technology providers.
"In the four years since we launched CardNotPresent.com, we have seen the business grow dramatically, and more importantly, seen the CardNotPresent.com digital platform deliver world-class content in the space, with a strong focus on CNP payment and fraud solutions," said Casco. "We are really excited to work with Reed—a premier exhibition company with publishing in its very DNA. Reed Exhibitions’ scale as the world’s leading event organizer allows us to access new resources, international markets and large retail communities in an unprecedented way."
CardNotPresent.com and the CNP Expo are now part of Reed’s global portfolio of events that includes New York Comic Con, the Global Gaming Expo, the World Travel Market, JKC Las Vegas, and other major events in a range of industries including IT, healthcare, aviation, electronics, manufacturing, broadcasting and others.
"We are delighted that Steve and DJ will join Reed and remain involved with the business," said Nan Walsh, president of Reed Exhibitions in North America. "We believe that together we can grow the event and its digital assets with cutting edge content, and provide our customers with education and solutions to protect themselves from fraud and grow their businesses."
