Fortumo Partners with Marmalade for In-App Payments
June 10, 2013
Fortumo, a mobile payments company based in Estonia, late last week said developers using the Marmalade SDK to build mobile apps on the Android platform now have access to Fortumo’s technology that enables them to include in-app payments around the world.
“The Marmalade SDK enables developers to reach more platforms and devices with a single code base, saving development time and effort,” said Jaana Metsamaa, head of engineering for Fortumo, in the company’s official blog. “For Android apps built with Marmalade, Fortumo has made monetization just as easy—one integration enables in-app payments in 80 countries and through all app stores, including Google Play, NOOK Store and other third-party app stores.”
Just days earlier, Indonesian telecommunications provider ZTE Joygor said it will use Fortumo to facilitate billing on its app platform, which comes preloaded on millions of ZTE devices worldwide. As part of the deal, users of ZTE phones will also get access to mobile games already using Fortumo’s in-app purchasing for Android, as these apps will be preloaded directly to ZTE handsets.
