ACI Leverages Acquisitions for Expanded E-Commerce Payments Solution
June 6, 2016
Naples, Fla.-based payments processor ACI Worldwide has consolidated global e-commerce acquisitions made during the past two years into a solution it says will deliver merchants and PSPs a one-stop array of e-commerce payment, fraud prevention, cross-border and omnichannel services. ACI acquired U.K. antifraud technology provider Retail Decisions in 2014 and German e-commerce gateway provider PAY.ON the following year . It has integrated the capabilities of the companies and the existing processing network of ACI into a solution it is calling UP eCommerce Payments.
“Because today’s consumers are dynamic and demanding, today’s merchants are under ever-increasing pressure to deliver optimal customer experiences or risk customer attrition,” said Mike Braatz, chief product officer for ACI Worldwide. “In order to succeed and gain market share in this challenging environment, merchants must make payments a seamless part of the consumer experience, a daunting task. UP eCommerce Payments makes eCommerce simple, global and secure.”
The move is reminiscent of one made by another global payments player in an industry where large processors and others are gobbling up fintech startups so they can offer merchants and other payment providers a complete e-commerce payments solution.
