Reed Exhibitions Taps IoT Vet to Lead Security Group

Reed Exhibitions, the global tradeshow company that owns CardNotPresent.com and the CNP Expo, announced this week it has added Will Wise to lead its Security portfolio. In addition to the CNP Expo and CardNotPresent.com, Wise will oversee Reed’s ISC West and ISC East. Wise most recently served as managing director for the IoT Institute, IoTi.com and the IoT Emerge event for Penton. As businesses continue to leverage connected devices of all kinds to sell their goods and services, Wise’s experience with the Internet of Things will provide a vital perspective as CardNotPresent.com and the CNP Expo continue to grow and evolve.

“IoT functionality is going to stimulate a huge expansion in services-based business models and new ways to transact across both the consumer and B2B markets,” Wise said. “It’s ripe with opportunity, and essential to manage and eliminate risk.”

According to CardNotPresent.com Editor-in-Chief D.J. Murphy, accurate information and insightful opinion on how payments will interact with that functionality is essential for merchants as they look for new revenue streams. Wise’s addition will bolster efforts by CardNotPresent.com and the CNP Expo to provide that coverage.

“Digital payments in 2017 bear little resemblance to where e-commerce was when it began not even 20 years ago and the pace of change figures to accelerate quickly,” said Murphy. “Navigating the opportunities to increase revenue via IoT payments will be exciting, challenging and crucial for merchants moving forward. Fighting fraud in this new universe will be equally challenging—maybe even more so. Will’s experience will be extremely valuable as we continue our mission to provide merchants with the information, education and inspiration they need to excel in the card-not-present space.”
