Kount Raises Fraud Protection to the ‘Choke Point’

Antifraud technology provider Kount today launched a new service that will attack fraud at what it’s calling the "choke point." The company said it intends its new solution, called Kount Central, to be used at the payment-processing level, rather than evaluating transactions at the merchant level. The Boise, Idaho-based company said it is targeting acquirers, PSPs, hosted pay pages and gateways, which will in turn be able to offer the service to multiple merchants. Since the integration is at the processor level, Kount said, online merchants have access to a comprehensive fraud solution with a much simpler integration process.
"With the launch of Kount Central, we’re providing our industry-leading protection to stop fraud at the ‘choke point,’ moving up the payments ecosystem to the payments processor," said Brad Wiskirchen, CEO of Kount. "Now processors can provide added value with proven services that will enable their merchants to increase sales without the fraud risk associated with online payments."
