Fed Names New Fraud and Security Chief

On Friday, the Federal Reserve named a new chief to head efforts aimed at reducing fraud and enhancing security in the U.S. payments system. Kenneth Montgomery, the first vice president and COO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston will replace Todd Aadland of the Chicago Fed, who has been serving in the role for the past two years.

Esther George, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and sponsor of the payments improvement initiatives said: “Ken’s extensive background in information technology and his collaborative leadership style will be critical to addressing a variety of important challenges as we continue to make improvements to the nation’s payments infrastructure.”
