Eckoh Nabs U.S. Patent for Call-Center Security Technology Eckoh, a U.K.-based provider of payment security solutions for call centers, last week revealed it has been granted a patent in the U.S. for the technology behind its CallGuard product. CallGuard enables companies to accept payments through their call centers without the call-center agent ever hearing or recording the card number. Customers enter the number on their telephone keypad when prompted and the solution masks the tones made by the customer’s phone so the agent cannot hear it and the normal call recording can continue without interruption. The solution guards against agent fraud and ensures PCI compliance when handling customer payment information.

Eckoh already holds a patent on the technology in the U.K. and said the addition of the U.S. patent will help its expansion in that market.
