CNP Expo Day 2: West Side Story and the Online Payments Journey
May 25, 2016
Keynote speakers Sarah Arvin from Worldpay and Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter and author Charles Duhigg opened the second full day of the CNP Expo in Orlando, Fla. today. Duhigg, whose new book Smarter Faster Better explores productivity and how it can actually be taught, told the story of West Side Story as an illustration of how innovation isn’t the product of a lightning bolt of inspiration from tortured artists. It’s more likely to come from combining existing ideas in settings and ways that have never been tried before.
Arvin, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Atlanta-based Worldpay U.S., talked of the online payments journey and cited Worldpay research describing how customers are paying. The rate of change at which consumers are changing their shopping and payment habits, which the research showed was accelerating, can make it an increasingly difficult environment for merchants to navigate.
Today’s schedule includes nearly 20 breakout sessions (some highlighted below) in the conference center lasting until 5 p.m. And, at 5:30 p.m., the 2016 CNP Award winners will be revealed in a dozen categories at a special outdoor celebration.
