Sept. 18, 2014
Zooz, an Israeli payment service provider serving large enterprises, yesterday said it reached an agreement with Chinese online payment method Alipay that will enable its merchant clients to accept payments from Alipay’s 300 million account holders. This year, China moved ahead of the U.S. as the world’s largest e-commerce market and companies hoping to tap into that user base need to offer the most popular way to pay in that market, according to Zooz CEO, Oren Levy.
“In the global marketplace, acceptance of a local payment method can dramatically impact a retailer’s business,” said Levy. “This partnership with Alipay confirms our commitment to helping our retail customers compete on the international playing field.”
