Vesta Enables Mexican Mobile Customers to Pay via Phone Number

April 14, 2011

Vesta Corporation, a Portland, Ore.-based electronic payment solutions provider, has launched a product with Telcel that will enable the Mexican wireless provider’s customers to pay for airtime, data plans, and other services remotely using their mobile phone number. The company said the offering will allow customers, who previously were required to visit a retail location to recharge their minutes, to fund their prepaid broadband accounts on the Web with a credit card. Vesta will manage all requests through a Telcel-branded website, validate cardholder data, and deliver real-time account credits for successful transactions. “Operators worldwide are responding to customer requests for convenient, flexible payment options for prepaid mobile services,” said Rocky Scales, senior vice president, Vesta Global Sales. “Vesta’s recharge solutions will enable Telcel to continue its tradition of providing innovative features that increase customer satisfaction and extend the customer life cycle.” Vesta said it will fully indemnify the mobile operator from any transaction-related fraud and protect customer credit card data through full PCI compliance.
