Trulioo Launches Identity Coverage in India
Oct. 29, 2015
Trulioo, a Vancouver-based company that specializes in providing identity verification internationally, this week announced it has extended coverage to India. A growing number of companies taking advantage of India’s exploding e-commerce market are selling in India or need to verify the identity of Indian consumers for Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering compliance. Trulioo taps sophisticated data sources worldwide to identify consumers and protect merchants and banks in various jurisdictions around the world.
“The data we have in countries typically includes credit bureau data, government databases (which are obviously the most secure), but expanding the data sources we have around the world has been our focus for the past 12 months,” Jon Jones, president of Trulioo, told CardNotPresent.com.
Jones noted that e-commerce has grown from $2.3 billion to around $18 billion and that India’s economic growth will surpass China next year. Domestic players inside India and cross-border merchants hoping to sell into and from India will be clamoring for identity services and Jones said Trulioo’s data sources cover nearly all of India’s 1.3 billion people.
