Digital River recently unveiled a partnership with HarperCollins Publishers under which it will support sales and payments for two new Websites dedicated to the works of one of the most beloved children’s authors ever. The publisher launched and to sell e-book versions of the works of C.S. Lewis, author of the Chronicles of Narnia series. Digital River said its commerce-as-a-service platform is facilitating transactions on the sites, including handling global payments, tax and compliance management, fraud prevention, security and order management.

“Companies today are looking not only for new channels for establishing direct-to-consumer relationships, but also for increasingly flexible ways to go to market—the comprehensive plug-and-play solution that we have built for HarperCollins accomplishes just that,” said David Woolenberg, Digital River’s senior vice president of global sales for digital commerce. “Our work with HarperCollins is directly aligned with Digital River’s transformation plans to evolve our ecosystem of industry partnerships and expand our leadership presence in software and games across new digital product categories. This includes not only publishing, but also other cloud-enabled services such as subscriptions and usage-based billing models.”
