Stripe Playing with Giants, Powers Facebook “Buy” Button

Stripe has had a fruitful summer and early fall. First, the online payment platform was chosen to power Twitter’s new service that enables purchases from Tweets. Then it was part of an even bigger announcement when Apple revealed that Stripe is facilitating in-app transactions for the new Apple Pay feature incorporated into the iPhone 6. And now, it has been confirmed by the four-year-old company it has partnered with the only other tech giant that could move the needle as much as the others: Facebook. The social media giant, which has been testing its own “Buy” initiative, confirmed recently that Stripe’s technology is enabling beta tests of the Facebook payment service.
According to published reports, Facebook began testing the service, which will enable Facebook users to purchase goods featured in ads or posts in their News Feed, in July.
