Olympics Fans Pay Cash for Tickets Online with Ukash, 3V

April 26, 2011

Ukash and 3V Transaction Services, two European firms that enables consumers to use cash to make e-commerce payments, have partnered to provide such a service to U.K. consumers who want to buy tickets for the 2012 Olympic Games tickets online. The partnership combines Ukash’s extensive distribution with 3V’s Visa-issued vouchers (tickets for the games can only be purchased using Visa). Consumers who want to purchase Olympic tickets, but don’t have a Visa card to complete the CNP transaction, can purchase a Ukash voucher at any of its thousands of retail locations in the U.K. and convert it to a 3V Visa Number at 3V’s Website. The 3V voucher can then be used as a Visa in any online transaction. David Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Ukash, said: “Our partnership with 3V opens up an enormous opportunity for consumers in the UK who don’t have bank accounts or credit cards to join in the historic event of the London 2012 Olympic Games.” Ukash vouchers can be converted into 3V Visa Numbers in amounts from £30 ($49.64) to £150 ($247.73), with surcharges ranging from £2 ($3.30) to £5 ($8.26) pounds.
