O2 Chooses MACH for Direct Carrier Billing
Jan. 10, 2013
O2 UK has chosen MACH to power direct carrier billing for a new service the British wireless carrier is providing its mobile customers. O2 is rolling out its Charge to Mobile platform that will enable users to charge apps and other digital content directly to their mobile bills. Direct carrier billing, as O2 noted in its announcement, converts browsers to buyers at a higher rate than other payment methods.
“Our new Charge to Mobile platform is an important, strategic launch for O2,” said Danny Barclay, head of interactive sales at O2. “MACH is helping us to open up the apps economy for online services for our businesses, as we look to create a healthy ecosystem with competitive revenue splits for our partners and a leading edge technology platform to support this. MACH is a natural partner due to its heritage in delivering frictionless payments for major application stores and merchants.”
