  • Acculynk Enables PIN-Debit Purchases Online for MasterCard Cardholders - July 29, 2010
    Acculynk, an Atlanta-based e-commerce security provider, today announced it has partnered with MasterCard to enable online PIN-debit transactions. Acculynk’s PaySecure service enables consumers to use PIN-debit for Internet shopping, providing issuers with another way to validate a cardholder's identity and decreasing the odds of fraudulent transactions.
  • PayPal Bouys Ebay Q2 Earnings - July 29, 2010
    eBay Inc. recently reported Q2 profits rose 26 percent mainly on record performance of its alternative payments unit PayPal. The parent company reported net income of $530.2 million, or 40 cents per share, on revenue of $2.2 billion. PayPal added a million new accounts each month during the quarter and its merchant services business grew 40 percent year-over-year.

  • CyberSource Shareholders Approve Visa Sale - July 22, 2010
    As expected, shareholders of CyberSource Corp. this week approved the offer by Visa Inc. to acquire the Mountain View, Calif.-based e-commerce payments processor. Visa followed up the successful vote by announcing the completion of the $2 billion cash deal. About 71.8 percent of CyberSource’s outstanding shares voted, of which 99.8 percent came out in favor of the purchase.

  • PULSE Launches PIN Debit Service for Online Payment - July 22, 2010
    PULSE, a national debit/ATM network, recently announced the launch of PULSE Internet PIN debit for online shopping. The Houston-based subsidiary of Discover Financial Services said it recently concluded a pilot that showed cardholders were comfortable conducting e-commerce transactions with a PIN debit card.
  • Friendster Chooses Smart2Pay for Online Transactions - July 22, 2010
    Smart2Pay, a Dutch online payment solutions provider, announced recently it will be supplying its multi-currency alternative payment methods to social networking website Friendster. Smart2Pay’s offering will enable Friendster users, 90 percent of whom reside in Asia, to make transactions at the Friendster Gift Shop and to load the recently launched Friendster Wallet.
