ShopSavvy Releases Updated Mobile Shopping App
Nov. 21, 2011
Dallas-based ShopSavvy last week released the latest version
of its one-tap purchasing app for the iPhone and Android. ShopSavvy said it has
expanded in-app purchasing to include a wider range of retailer Websites, like
Walmart.com, Target.com, BestBuy.com and BN.com, among others. The app enables registered
ShopSavvy users who scan an item in a store and see a better deal online to
purchase it immediately without leaving the app. "Mobile commerce will
double this year to $6 billion, according to Forrester Research, and ShopSavvy
expects to play a big part in this growth by offering convenient in-app
purchasing from a rapidly expanding roster of retailers nationwide," said
Alexander Muse, founder and CEO of ShopSavvy. "This is a natural extension
of what ShopSavvy has always done best—giving shoppers the tools they need to
save money and time, which is never more important than during the busy holiday
season." Earlier this month, ShopSavvy secured $7 million in Series A
funding in a round led by Eduardo Saverin, Facebook co-founder and private
investor, who has joined the company's board of directors.
