ControlScan Acquires CRE Secure

May 11, 2012

ControlScan, an Atlanta-based provider of PCI compliance and information security services for merchants and their service providers, has acquired another Atlanta company that specializes in secure cloud-based payment solutions for online merchants. CRE Secure, an exhibitor at the upcoming CNP Expo, provides PCI-compliant, secure hosted payment pages for e-commerce merchants that utilize patent-pending HTML cloning technology. ControlScan says the technology will enable it to address security concerns specific to CNP transactions as the U.S. migrates to the EMV standard in the coming years.

“The combination of ControlScan and CRE Secure is a natural fit that provides increased value for our current ISO, acquirer and processor partners who are looking for a full suite of PCI compliance and security solutions for their merchants,” said Joan Herbig, CEO of ControlScan. “By adding CRE Secure’s e-commerce products, ControlScan will now offer a solution that advances our mission to further simplify the process of compliance for e-commerce merchants.”

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but ControlScan did say CRE Secure’s employees would make the short move to ControlScan’s corporate headquarters in Atlanta.
