American Implements Acculynk’s PIN Debit Solution

American Airlines this week became the first airline to protect consumers who want to pay online using debit cards with PIN-debit technology from Acculynk. The Atlanta-based company’s PaySecure system enables consumers using debit online at AA.com to enter a PIN for enhanced security. The international carrier says offering PIN-debit transactions will enable it to reach more travelers online in other markets.

“We are pleased to soon offer Internet PIN debit to our customers on AA.com, as PIN debit continues to be one of the fastest growing and most popular payment types in the U.S.,” says Frank DiNuzzo, managing director of marketing performance for American Airlines.  “PaySecure also allows us to grow our Internet presence in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, a highly debit-centric market, by enabling the more than 2 million online customers with PIN-only debit cards to purchase tickets on AA.com.”
