New PayPal Facility to Add 1,000 Jobs in Ireland

Feb. 28, 2012

PayPal recently revealed on its corporate blog that it will add a third operations facility in Ireland that will create 1,000 new jobs in Dundalk, a town of 30,000 located 50 miles north of Dublin, by 2015. John McCabe, senior vice president of global operations for PayPal, says the Dundalk site will complement existing PayPal facilities in Dublin and Blanchardstown to support “phenomenal growth” the company is experiencing in the region. “The decision to locate a third eBay, Inc. location in Ireland is a testament to the excellent work and success of both our PayPal and eBay Marketplaces teammates in Dublin,” says McCabe. “Here, we’ve found an incredibly diverse and talented workforce with the ability to serve customers in a variety of languages.” The new jobs are supported by the Irish government through IDA Ireland. Enda Kenny, Ireland’s Taoiseach (prime minister), says: “[The] announcement by PayPal of 1,000 new jobs is great news for Ireland and for the northeast. This is a great signal of confidence in Ireland and in our talented workforce. It is a clear recognition of the opportunities that Ireland offers global leaders like PayPal.”
