Mobile Transactions Grow as a Percentage of Total E-Commerce in Brazil
March 21, 2016
Brazil has been identified as an important e-commerce market and recent research shows that companies wanting to focus efforts there must pay attention to mobile online transactions. M-commerce around the world is growing as a share of total online sales and Brazilian research firm E-bit found more than 14 percent of online transactions originating in Brazil in the second half of 2015 came from mobile Websites, according to eMarketer. That’s up from just over 10 percent in the January-to-June period and up from 9 percent a year earlier. E-bit’s numbers do not include online transactions that originated from mobile apps, so the total share of mobile online transactions could be significantly higher in the country.
Marketing research firm Criteo, eMarketer said, put the mobile number at 18.6 percent of total e-commerce transactions, 15 percent originating on smartphones and the remaining 3.6 percent on tablets.
