MasterCard to Extend Offers to International Cardholders

MasterCard struck a deal yesterday with FiftyOne Global Ecommerce that will provide online offers to MasterCard cardholders outside the U.S. in their local currency. The offers, which go live on Thanksgiving Day, will enable U.S. retailers to reach overseas with offers to bump Black Friday and holiday sales.
“Fueled by growing emerging economies, broadband penetration and access to information, consumers all over the world have developed a ‘global mindset’ with vast brand recognition and a desire to buy these brands, whenever and wherever,” said Geoff Iddison, group executive for global e-commerce at MasterCard. “MasterCard recognizes this trend, and is working with customers and partners like FiftyOne to provide cardholders an enhanced global shopping experience that is a safe, simple and frictionless.”
FiftyOne Global will facilitate offers for international MasterCard cardholders for top brands including Aéropostale, Barneys New York, Bloomingdale’s, Fathead, Guitar Center, J.Crew, Lane Bryant, Macy’s, OverStock, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sears and Tommy Bahama.
