MasterCard Promotes Online Payments Vet for Emerging Payments Post

MasterCard Worldwide recently announced that Ed McLaughlin has been appointed chief emerging payments officer. McLaughlin, who replaces Josh Peirez, will be responsible for leading the development and commercialization of payment product platforms and solutions in the areas of e-commerce, mobile, P2P, PayPass/transit, inControl, bill payment, chip and the Mobile Payment Solutions joint venture. McLaughlin, who most recently was group executive for MasterCard’s franchise development group, joined the company in 2005. Prior to MasterCard, he served as group vice president, product and strategy, at Metavante, which he joined when it acquired Paytrust, the online payments company he led and helped found. McLaughlin also served as executive vice president at LogicWorks Inc., a data modeling software company.
