MasterCard, PAY.ON Partner to Offer Merchants MasterPass Online Payment Alternative
July 16, 2015
MasterCard and PAY.ON yesterday unveiled an agreement under which the German online gateway provider will make MasterCard’s digital wallet solution MasterPass available to its 110 PSP clients through the company’s COPYandPAY service. In turn, the PSPs will enable their merchants to offer MasterPass as an online payment option to their customers.
David Klemm, head of acceptance development in Germany at MasterCard, said: “MasterPass offers merchants—on the web, via in-app payments on mobile devices, and, in the future, in stores—a user-friendly solution that simplifies payment for customers by bundling together multiple payment and customer loyalty cards, and minimizing shopping cart abandonment.”
The PAY.ON gateway enables global PSPs and acquirers to offer cross-border e-commerce processing solutions to merchants around the world. CardNotPresent.com is in the midst of a research effort to identify and quanitfy the challenges and opportunities inherent in cross-border e-commerce. Merchants and service providers are encouraged to take the survey to add to the cumulative knowledge base on the subject. Results will be available later this year.
