LEAP Commerce Launches ‘Universal’ Shopping Cart

Oct. 29, 2012

San Francisco-based e-commerce and mobile startup LEAP Commerce launched a new version of its Best Decision mobile app that enables consumers to shop and make purchases from multiple merchants in one shopping cart. LEAP said the new feature—dubbed “Universal Cart”—leverages a virtual mall that brings 23 high-profile retailers including Amazon, Walmart and others under “one roof” and lets consumers add items from the different stores into one online shopping cart and pay one time.

“Every few years, retail commerce goes through a revolution and we are on the brink of a new one that is going to be driven by mobile and social technologies,” said Karel Baloun, co-founder and CTO of LEAP Commerce. “We created Best Decision to give today’s mobile-connected shoppers the most personalized shopping experience that’s not only fun, unique and social, but safe and secure as well. We take care of all the details so our users can do what they love to best—shop!”

While the app does not include every product from every retailer included in the virtual mall, consumers currently have access to around 110 million items via the Best Decision app.
