Jumio’s Netswipe Now Available for Mobile Websites
June 16, 2014
Identity verification specialist Jumio on Thursday launched a version its Netswipe card-scanning technology specifically for the mobile Web. The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company said the Netswipe technology previously was available only for native apps and desktop Websites, but Netswipe for Mobile Web will enable users conducting transactions on mobile Websites to input their credit-card information faster and easier. Netswipe lets users enter payment-card information by scanning their card with the camera of a mobile device. Jumio’s technology automatically populates the fields in a shopping cart with the information scanned from the card.
“The quality of the mobile user experience is rapidly becoming the next battleground in the quest to attract and retain customers,” said Jumio CEO Daniel Mattes. “Businesses that integrate Netswipe into their apps or mobile Websites not only delight their customers, they also enjoy significantly higher conversion rates by eliminating the need for their customers to manually enter their credit card information on the checkout page. Netswipe for Mobile Web now expands that functionality to every platform used for payments.”
The company said the 60-plus seconds of keyed entry Netswipe saves users results in 30 percent higher conversion rates.
