Jumio, IDology Partner for Simpler ID Verification
Sept. 2, 2014
Jumio, a Silicon Valley-based online and mobile credentials management company, and identity-verification technology provider IDology, late last week unveiled a partnership that will enable companies to use government-issued photo IDs for verification purposes in card-not-present environments. Jumio’s Netverify technology enables merchants or financial institutions to scan a driver’s license using a smartphone or computer’s camera and verify that it is a valid ID. It can also automatically enter some of that information in online forms, streamlining the purchase process. IDology’s ExpectID solution then ensures the ID data matches application input and checks information against other databases for validation.
The companies said the combined power of the solutions will make identity verification simpler and less intrusive.
"IDology and Jumio share the same goal – to make identity verification easy for businesses while simultaneously making that process seamless and without hassle for the customer," said Daniel Mattes, founder and CEO of Jumio. "Through this partnership with IDology, organizations can further streamline the identity verification process for businesses in gaming, financial services, payments and more while helping them better know and protect their customers."
