Isis Delayed Again

Sept. 14, 2012

After confirming several weeks ago that it would launch in September, Isis, the mobile payments joint venture launched nearly two years ago, will delay its long-anticipated pilot tests in Austin, Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah again, according to a published report.

Jaymee Johnson, the company’s head of marketing, told Reuters that “a final punch list of items” will delay the launch of the highly anticipated mobile wallet, which will compete with mobile payment initiatives from Google, LevelUp, Square and a host of other providers, until October.

Isis is a joint venture among several of the largest U.S. wireless carriers: Verizon Wireless, AT&T and T-Mobile USA.
