Indian Software Firm Takes Minority Stake in Emailage Wipro Ventures, the investment arm of Indian IT company Wipro, has taken a minority stake in Emailage. The Chandler, Ariz.-based startup’s technology enables businesses to evaluate fraud risk in e-commerce transactions based on the email address provided by the customer. While financial details of the deal were not disclosed, Wipro characterized its investment in the antifraud technology provider as “small, currently less than 5 percent of Emailage’s equity.”

Emailage announced the strategic investment on its corporate blog, ensuring its customers that the “partnership will allow Emailage and Wipro to offer compliance, risk assessment, and fraud prevention solutions across even more industry sectors. Together, both companies will enable more enterprise businesses to process financial transactions faster, prevent fraud effectively, and protect their bottom lines.”
