Oct. 14, 2011

Anti-fraud solutions provider Accertify said Global Payments Inc., an Atlanta-based electronic transaction payment processing company, will offer its e-commerce merchants a fraud screening solution based on the American Express subsidiary’s risk management technology. The solution will be offered to Global Payments clients through its Global TransportR gateway, which enables merchants to protect against card-not-present (CNP) fraud and mitigate counterfeit and identify theft risks. “The e-commerce segment continues to grow at a healthy pace, and merchants are doing more sales through this channel than ever before,” said Sid Singh, senior vice president and global head, product for Global Payments. “It is vital for all of our merchants to have stringent protection in place, and our agreement with Accertify will give them access to a proven risk management solution that many leading multi-national companies rely upon. Chip-and-PIN technologies are also gaining critical mass on a worldwide basis, increasing fraud rates in the card-not-present channel. Our e-commerce merchants will now be able to safeguard their interests without compromising on sales revenues.”
