April 23, 2015
Global carrier billing revenue will reach nearly $25 billion by 2019, according to Italian provider Neomobile. Carrier Billing: Global Market Trends and Forecasts , the report the company commissioned, said carrier billing, which amassed $14.5 billion in revenue in 2014, will grow to $24.7 billion five years from now. The most growth will occur through the various OS app stores, the report said, which will account for more than half of all carrier billing in 2019, though that sales channel accounted for only 14 percent of sales in 2014.
“I am pleased to announce our collaboration with Ovum on this report, which contains an encouraging growth forecast for global carrier billing revenue,” said Gianluca D’Agostino, CEO of Neomobile. “Neomobile fundamentally believes in the value of carrier billing as a means to monetize the mobile internet, and is ideally placed to take advantage of growth in this exciting and lucrative market.”
