Fraud on the Move: A CNP Expo Session Spotlight
April 27, 2015
According to a recent survey conducted by J. Gold Associates, mobile revenue growth averaged 47 percent year over year. More than a third of respondents, however, lost up to 5 percent of revenue to mobile fraud in the past year, 14 percent said they lost as much as 10 percent of revenue, and 15 percent lost as much as 25 percent. A separate survey from CardNotPresent.com, Kount and The Fraud Practice found that more than 60 percent of merchants cannot tell if a card-not-present transaction comes from a mobile device at all and only 17 percent can discern what type of device.
Mobile commerce is growing fast and fraud is growing right along with it—just like we experienced when e-commerce was still a new channel. The type of fraud you will see in a mobile channel is dependent on your business model, vertical and payment method. With all of these various fraud attack methods, the best way to learn about what fraud methods you should be aware of and how to prevent them is to learn from other merchants and industry experts who have already experienced mobile fraud, and have found ways to successfully prevent it.
During a panel discussion at the 2015 CNP Expo, Western Union, Petco, CyberSource and Kount, will share all the ways mobile fraud is different than e-commerce fraud, specific mobile fraud schemes to watch out for and ways they have successfully prevented mobile fraud. Whether you currently have a mobile channel or only accept orders through a web browser, which may include mobile transactions, this session shouldn’t be missed.
Join this session and many more at the 2015 CNP Expo, May 18-21 in Orlando, Fla., where you will get 40 hours of professional training directly benefitting your business. Click here to register .
