Nov. 1, 2012
Fortumo, a mobile payments provider headquartered in Estonia, has launched a beta version of its direct carrier billing technology for Windows 8. App developers working on apps for phones and tablets running Windows 8 can use Fortuna’s technology to enable consumers to bill mobile purchases to their phone bill.
“With the launch of Windows 8, developers now have an additional platform on which to build and distribute their applications,” said Rain Rannu, co-founder of Fortumo. “We will be helping them to develop new revenue streams from the get-go.”
Fortumo said carrier billing for Windows 8 works in almost 80 countries, is localized into 32 languages and supports more than 45 currencies.
