Flipkart Chooses CyberSource for International Online Payments
April 4, 2013
Flipkart, an online marketplace in India selling everything from books to electronics, this week said it has partnered with CyberSource to enable international card payments on the site. Visa-owned CyberSource, which specializes in antifraud solutions for e-commerce merchants, said the agreement will protect card transactions originating outside India with CyberSource’s Decision Manager fraud-fighting tool. The companies said the solution will work in tandem with Flipkart’s in-house antifraud solution, FRANK, to protect international and domestic orders.
“We have now opened up a much larger market for international customers who are increasingly looking to buy and ship gifts/products within India, without compromising on our high focus on online safety and security,” said Mekin Maheswari, general manager of Payments and Digital Media at Flipkart.com. “The partnership with CyberSource leverages the PCI-DSS certification we received early last year to create a tightly integrated and secure user experience, consistent with the customer obsessed culture of Flipkart.”
