Feedzai Partners with Emailage to Bolster Data for Fraud Prevention
Oct. 15, 2015
Big-data analytics company Feedzai this week announced it has partnered with fraud-prevention technology provider Emailage, which will provide San Mateo-based Feedzai with another data source to help merchants spot fraudulent online transactions. Emailage assesses the risk associated with a user’s email address and produces a score based on the probability the address is legitimate. The Emailage solution will augment the data available to Feedzai’s machine-learning solution along with other indicators such as session clickstream, access frequency, malware signatures, and social biometrics.
“Fraudsters get smarter as quickly as data comes in, and we need to be smarter, more nimble, and as thorough as possible — which means acquiring and analyzing all sources of data,” said Nuno Sebastiao, CEO of Feedzai. “Email is a global data identifier already collected in nearly every transaction, and adding this layer to our evolving and growing sources of data that we analyze and assess to mitigate the risk of fraud in real time makes our algorithms smarter and keeps commerce safer.”
