Eckoh Nabs U.S. Distribution Deal
June 9, 2014
Eckoh, a U.K.-based provider of security technology for call centers, today revealed it has signed a partnership securing distribution in the U.S. An Eckoh spokesperson said the company is unable to disclose the identity of its U.S. partner, but called it a “leading provider of business process outsourcing and communication services.” The five-year agreement begins on July 1 of this year and will be worth at least $24 million, according to a press release.
Eckoh’s technology enables merchants to accept card payments via their call centers without agents ever seeing or hearing payment card account information. The technology enables retailers and others to take their call centers and IT environments out of PCI scope. While Eckoh is not identifying its distributor at the moment, CEO Nik Philpot called the company “preeminent” and noted its customer base includes 80 percent of the Fortune 500.
“Given that our U.S. partner is such a preeminent communications and outsource provider, working with so many large U.S. organizations,” Philpot said, “we believe they are the perfect partner to help us quickly deliver significant sales growth from the U.S. market.”
