E-Commerce Sales Up on Green Monday

E-commerce sales continue to run well ahead of last year, according to the Chase Holiday Pulse. For the season-to-date, sales are 12.2 percent ahead of last year. Transactions are up 22.5 percent and average ticket prices continue to lag by 8.4 percent. On the second Monday in December, known as Green Monday, sales were up from the same day in 2011 by nearly 11 percent. The report said the increase was driven mainly by merchant deals and discounts.

For the entire week, sales rose 7.1 percent, transactions increased 9.3 percent and average tickets fell just over 2 percent on a year-over-year basis.
