Computop, CardinalCommerce Provide Stronger Authentication for Cross-Border Merchants
Oct. 15, 2015
German PSP Computop and CardinalCommerce yesterday unveiled a partnership that will enable merchants using Computop’s Paygate online payment gateway to leverage the Ohio-based company’s Consumer Authentication solution. Cardinal Consumer Authentication employs the risk-based application of 3D Secure to online transactions. In certain cases it will ask shoppers for additional authentication credentials leading to fewer declined transactions.
The agreement provides Computop merchants who want to sell globally with additional security in a post-EMV world where card-not-present fraud rates in the U.S. are expected to soar and Cardinal gains access to more merchants in overseas markets.
Ralf Gladis, CEO of Computop, said: “Together, Computop and CardinalCommerce give merchants a complete, highly secure payment solution that enables them to not only bolster sales in their own backyards but also to efficiently and effectively conduct business on the other side of the world.”
