boxPAY Seeks to License Direct Billing Technology
Oct. 25, 2012
Irish direct-carrier-billing technology provider boxPAY last week said it is seeking to license its technology to third-party companies. Carrier billing companies typically work directly with merchants that want to offer customers the ability to charge online or mobile purchases to their mobile phone bill. Dublin, Ireland-based boxPAY said it has agreements to enable direct billing with carriers in 65 countries around the world.
“Now we want to talk to anyone that is interested in carrier billing but doesn’t have the time or bandwidth to make individual system connections to telecoms networks,” said Co-Founder Gavin McConnon. “Or maybe they have carrier billing connections, but need to increase their global coverage and reach. We have invested two million dollars into developing this technology, and want to get the word out that it’s available.”
