BlueSnap Upgrades Client Side Encryption for iOS 8
Sept. 11, 2014
Perhaps piggybacking on Apple’s big iPhone 6 splash Tuesday, Massachusetts-based gateway provider BlueSnap yesterday revealed an upgraded version of its Client Side Encryption API that will support iOS 8 when it is released next week. BlueSnap’s Client Side Encryption library, launched this spring , allows merchants to encrypt credit-card data in the shopper’s browser window, preventing clear card data from ever reaching their servers. In its announcement, BlueSnap noted how quickly Apple users adopt new devices and operating systems and said it wanted its users to be ready.
“With iOS 8 due for release, we moved ahead of the curve to ensure that BlueSnap will offer the high level of performance and security that we offer on all devices and operating systems,” said Ralph Dangelmaier, CEO of BlueSnap. “We can now assure our merchants that BlueSnap will be ready for their customers who upgrade to the new iOS.”
