BlueSnap Goes Local in BRIC

April 10, 2014

BlueSnap Goes Local in BRIC Online and mobile payments provider BlueSnap this week said its global gateway now offers localized payment methods in Brazil, Russia, India and China. The company said it is supporting Boleto Bancario for merchants selling in Brazil (along with securing a local acquirer—a necessary step for companies facilitating cross-border payments in Brazil), Alipay in China and PayPal, Skrill and cashU in Russia and India. Webmoney and vouchers such as Ukash will also be available to merchants selling in Russia, the Waltham, Mass.-based company said.

“Consumers around the world want to pay for goods using the methods they know and trust,” said Ralph Dangelmaier, CEO of BlueSnap. “In the BRIC countries, we are giving global sellers a competitive edge by stacking their checkout pages with the payment options their customers want to see. Overall, our goal is to help merchants break into new global markets, eliminate snags that cause shoppers to abort the purchase process, and ultimately increase sales.”
