Banks Ready for Same Day ACH Payments
April 11, 2016
U.S. banks are on track to begin originating same-day ACH payments, according to a new survey from NACHA. The organization polled 22 of the top 25 ACH-originating financial institutions and found 95 percent plan to offer same-day ACH payments by the end of 2016. The use cases most cited by survey respondents are payroll (100 percent) and B2B payments (95 percent).
“Financial institutions see the value in providing new, faster payment options to their customers with certainty and surety, and Same Day ACH allows them to do that in 2016,” said Janet O. Estep, president and CEO of NACHA. “These findings support our earlier research that Same Day ACH volume will come from use cases like payroll and B2B payments.”
